Heard recently with Evan Parker on Toward The Margins, the Ugandan-born violinist Wachsmann and the expatriate English drummer Lytton have long been two of the most consistently creative players in European improvisation. On "Some Other Season", their first duo album, they make extensive use of electronics to shape improvisations that defy categorization, skirting the fringes of indeterminacy and free jazz, often creating extraordinary soundscapes.
