Special offer on Jedlička books

The unexpected cache of “Sleeves of Desire” books that turned up last week has already sold out. We have no more copies of this book in stock.

However, as a consolation for those seeking ECM related artwork, we would like to draw your attention to three books
by Czech-born multi-disciplinary artist Jan Jedlička.

Jedlička has contributed cover images to many highly-acclaimed ECM albums including “Twelve Moons” , “Madar” “ and “The Sea” as well as András Schiff’s account of Bach’s “Goldberg Variations” and Schiff’s unfolding cycle of Beethoven Sonatas .

In 1997, in the wake of the very positive reactions to “Sleeves of Desire”, ECM published a small volume of Jedlička photos,
“A Winter Journey To The Sea” .

In 1999, two further small books of his images were published by Andreas Züst Verlag – each exploring a singular theme.
“The Rose & Punchbowl” finds Jedlička taking a very personal look at England, a land he came to find “increasingly incomprehensible” during a residency there. One shot from this book graced the cover of Kenny Wheeler’s album “A Long Time Ago” .
“Le Cuoche” , meanwhile, brings the Jedlička cameras into the Italian kitchen. One image from this series, dramatic gas jets beneath a wrought iron pot, found its way onto the sleeve of Evan Parker’s “Drawn Inward” ..

“A Winter Journey To The Sea”, “The Rose & Punchbowl” and
“Le Cuoche” each cost Eur 7,00.

All three books may be purchased together, in an edition with slipcase, for Eur 18,00.
