Frode Halti Wins New French Prize

Innovative Norwegian accordionist Frode Halti, who can be heard on his “Looking On Darkness” album playing compositions of Bent Sørensen, Magnus Lindberg and Maja Ratkje and more, and improvising with Trygve Seim and company on “The Source and Other Cikadas”, is the first winner of the newly-established Prix Gus Viseur, an award established by French magazine Accordeon et Accordéonistes. Haltli wins in the New Music category.

Haltli’s “Looking On Darkness” previously won the coveted Norwegian “Spellemannprisen” award as Best Contemporary Music Album 2003.
