JARRETT ON BILLBOARD AND iTUNES CHARTS
“The Out-of-Towners”, the new album by Keith Jarrett/ Gary Peacock/ Jack DeJohnette, recorded live in Munich, crashed into the Billboard Jazz Chart at No. 9 in its first week of release.
“The Out-of-Towners” has, furthermore, made history by being the first of ECM’s releases to be available – in North America only so far - via the iTunes downloading system, also charting in this capacity. Jarrett reached No. 1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart and was briefly at No. 14 on iTunes’ overall chart. An impressive showing for our first experiment in this medium.
